YEPPOON SKATE PARK

Public BBQ

Yeppoon Skate Park receives mixed reviews, ranging from regional best to disappointing. The refurbished facility features a contained, shaded kids play area where parents can relax with BBQs or books while children play. Council improvements include nice landscaping and positioning near the lagoon. The skate park suits various skill levels with grass areas and shade for spectators, maintained in clean condition. Early evening sea breezes enhance the experience, with toilets on either side and free parking available. However, playground facilities disappoint some with limited equipment - just a cubby house, two swings, minimal slides, and inadequate family seating. The skate park itself faces criticism for design issues including unnecessary ramps causing excessive speed, questionable metal cylinders on ramps, and crowding with non-skating teens.
